Wendelien Daan (Eindhoven, 1965) is a fashion and portrait photographer. She graduated from Artez' school of fashion design. Wendelien has been working as a fashion photographer since 1995.
In her work Daan is inspired by the interaction of light and dark, because fascinating things can take place in the shadow. Daan's use of open and closed body language draws your attention and emphasizes strength.
It is the combination of these elements, the love for storytelling and the absurdity in combination with a clear visual language that makes the work of Wendelien Daan so recognizable.
She recently photographed for the second year in a row the nominations of the Woman of the Year election for Harper's Bazaar and she regularly makes portraits for magazines LINDA. and Vogue.
