At the age of 14, Carin Verbruggen picked up a camera for the first time, and instantly fell in love with photography as a medium. There was no question in her mind that she wanted to study at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
After graduating Carin started out as an assistant to established photographers. Her ambition to be in charge and make her own work provided that pretty soon she was herself the photographer on the set.
Ferry Drenthem Soesman’s love for music, film, photography and fashion initially led him to be a light and sound technician for NDT (the Nederlands Dans Theater Dance Theater) in The Hague. Although he loved the art of dance and his job, this wasn’t his final destination.
In 1996 Carin & Ferry not only became lovers but also partners on a quest for beauty, in which they share a strong passion for photography, music and art. Taking full advantage of their different backgrounds and expertise they developed the perfect synergy between concept, photography, graphic design and digital art.
Their work has been published in fashion and lifestyle magazines, on album and book covers, in advertisements and shown at exhibitions worldwide. They collaborated with brands like Porsche, Elle, Vogue, Esquire and Coca Cola.
